In May 2026, JS FITTINGS received an inquiry from an oil and gas field surface gathering project for a specific carbon steel line pipe requirement.
The customer was an Surface Gathering and Transportation Project for Oil and Gas Fields in Brazil. Because the pipe would be used directly in an oil and gas gathering system, the customer had relatively strict requirements for the pipe grade, specification, length, coating and inspection.
The order was confirmed in May and successfully shipped in June 2026. After receiving the pipes, the customer confirmed that the products met their requirements and expressed satisfaction with the delivery.
The Customer’s Requirement
The project required:
- Product: Carbon Steel PE-Coated Line Pipe
- Quantity: 400 pieces
- Nominal Size: 2 inches
- Wall Thickness: Schedule 80
- Steel Grade: X52
- Length: 12 meters
- Specification: PSL2
- Application: Oil & Gas Field Surface Gathering System
- Order: May 2026
- Shipment: June 2026
This was not a standard stock purchase.
The customer needed the pipe to match the technical requirements of an actual oil and gas field project, so details such as API 5L grade, PSL2 requirements, pipe dimensions, 12-meter fixed length and PE coating needed to be considered together before production.

From Inquiry to the Right Supply Solution
When the customer first contacted us, the focus was not simply on providing the lowest price.
The customer had already defined the required pipe size, Schedule, grade, length and PSL level. Our job was to understand how these requirements would be applied in the project and make sure the proposed supply could meet them.
During the communication, we reviewed the technical requirements with the customer and confirmed the production and coating details before moving forward.
For project procurement, small differences in specifications can create problems later during installation or inspection. Therefore, confirming the requirements at the quotation stage was an important part of this order.
After the technical details and commercial terms were agreed, the customer placed the order in May 2026.
Quality Verification Before Delivery
Because this was an oil and gas end-user project, quality verification was an important part of the purchasing process.
The customer wanted confidence that the supplied pipes would correspond with the agreed technical requirements before they were delivered to the project.
The production process was therefore followed according to the confirmed order requirements, with attention given to the pipe grade, dimensions, length, PSL2 requirements and PE coating.
For industrial line pipe orders, documentation and inspection are not simply paperwork. They provide the project team with a way to verify that the delivered material corresponds with the purchase requirements.
This is particularly important when the pipe is going directly into an oil and gas gathering system.
400 Pieces Shipped in June 2026
After production and quality checks were completed, the 400 pieces of 2-inch Schedule 80 X52 PE-coated line pipe, each 12 meters long, were prepared for shipment.
The order was shipped in June 2026, according to the agreed delivery arrangement.
After receiving the pipes, the customer checked the shipment and confirmed that the products met their expectations.
For a project supplier, successful delivery is not the end of the process. The real test is whether the material arrives in a condition that allows the customer to continue with the next stage of the project without unnecessary delays or quality issues.
What This Project Shows
The customer came to us with a specific project requirement. We did not simply send a general quotation. Instead, the discussion focused on the actual application, technical specifications, coating requirements, inspection and delivery.
The process was straightforward:
Project requirement → Technical discussion → Suitable supply solution → Order confirmation → Production & inspection → Shipment → Customer acceptance
This approach is particularly relevant for contractors and project buyers who need X52 line pipe, PSL2 carbon steel pipe, PE-coated line pipe or other project-specific steel pipe rather than standard warehouse material.
